It will be a place where lost loved ones can be remembered in peace and tranquillity.
A beautiful memorial bench has been unveiled in tribute to brave mum Kim Barrett and her children Luke and Aimee, who were swept out to sea a Scarborough.

The seat is a short distance away from the Horsforth home of Kim's parents Mick and Norma, who have pledged to keep the memories of their family members alive.

Norma said: "The housing committee at the flats arranged it all. Mick has pushed and pushed for a memorial bench so we are all so pleased it has been arranged, we are very grateful to the committee. Mick believed they should be honoured in some way and I agreed.

"We will spend time there reflecting, thinking about Kim and the kids. They were so precious to us, their memories are precious to us and the bench will become a precious place. We are delighted it is here and that the committee thought about Kim, Luke and Aimee in this way." Kim, 32, Aimee, 13, and 11-year-old Luke were swept away by a raging North Sea in Scarborough in March 2005.

Kim and Aimee, who went into the water to try to save Luke, were posthumously decorated with the In Memoriam Bravery Award by the Royal Humane Society.

Good Samaritan Nick Beaumont, who risked his own life to help, won a bravery award from the same society.
